Fr: Jean Mxxxxxxy To: "BillandKay Hughes" Subject: Acne Date: Thu, 8 May 2003 Dear Bill & Kay, I just want to tell you Diane's [daughter] experience in dealing with acne. For about the last 7 years, Diane has had problems with her skin. I've taken her to several dermatologists who have prescribed every antibiotic out there as well as a variety of topical creams and lotions - all to no avail. About 3 years ago, after all other avenues were exhausted, she was put on Accutane. We were told this was the only thing that would help her, and that it was safe provided she had monthly blood work done to monitor her levels. It did help while she was on the Accutane (about 5 mos.); however, her skin became so dry over her entire body that it was sometimes painful to touch. Two months after finishing the Accutane we were back to where we started. The acne had returned. The dermatologist suggested we start round 2 of the Accutane because it takes some people a little longer to get long lasting results. About that time, reports starting surfacing about the serious side-effects of this drug. We opted to go a different route. That route was taking medicinal herbs. It helped to a certain degree, but just didn't seem to help that much. We had been introduced to Sunrider by Kay. Diane was at a point where she was willing to try anything to see if it worked. She started using Quinary (10 capsules a day), Beauty Pearl, Fortune, and Calli. Kay told us the best thing was to take the NuPlus; however, Diane didn't care for the taste, even though I tried to mix it in different foods. So we still weren't seeing the results we needed. We made one LAST trip to the dermatologist 2 months ago. He barely looked at her skin, and said since the antibiotics weren't working, she needed to be put back on the Accutane. We declined. His next suggestion was to start back with the antibiotics that didn't work the first time, and see if they would a second time around. We walked out of there thinking; “We're NOT going back!!!” I told Diane: “The only thing left is to get back on the NuPlus.” She agreed. I think she was desperate to find something that can help. I am happy to report that she now eats between 4 - 7 NuPlus (an craves more) a day -mixed in smoothies, 10 Quinary caps, 2 Beauty Pearls, 4 Prime Again and 4 Dandelion Root. She's been doing this for about 6 weeks. Her skin is clearing. In fact, when Diane makes the smoothie, she add an extra scoop of NuPlus realizing that it's working. This is the best her skin has looked in a number of years. We also use the Veggie Rinse as an astringent and that seems to be helping. Since eating NuPlus, Diane has gained a few pounds and is filling out. (She has always been under weight for her height and age). She says she has more energy. She is going to the gym 3 times a week and running several miles 4 times a week. Kay and Bill we thank for putting us on to Sunrider! ~~Diane & Jean M
